Integrated electronic system aimed at monitoring and detecting people in buildings’ emergency evacuation

Aiming at crowds’ timely warning and effective guidance to safe places and/or exits, in case of emergency evacuation after fire in vital for the crowd areas, we are developing an integrated system of passive-active security (in the form of software and with the possibility of its implementation in hardware).

In other words, it is a system for monitoring progress assessment and early warning. Proposed application’s trait is its adaptability to new environments with appropriate configuration, without the need to replace the existing infrastructure or to decommission it. Proper evaluation of the received data is crucial for system’s correct response. Hence, it is necessary to improve the information received.

This is achieved by combining all data into an accurate, continuous and useful representation, incorporating data synthesis techniques into the system itself. Proposed application’s basic philosophy is the reproduction of user independent data, so that its operation is less vulnerable to -the always unspecified- human factor and, therefore, more reliable.

The project is co-financed by the European Union and National Resources.
